Gas oil is a product of oil refining and residual oil products. This is a liquid mixture of hydrocarbons of a uniform yellow color, in which sulphur-, oxygen- and nitrogen-containing impurities are usually present.
The product is used as an additive in the manufacture of diesel fuel. Diesel fuel may contain up to 15% gas oil according to the standards. This oil product has relatively low consumer parameters, so it cannot be used in its pure form for refueling cars. At the same time, due to its relatively low cost, atmospheric gas oil is excellent for applications where high quality requirements are not imposed. For example, fuel for boilers and marine engines is obtained from it.
