Coal and coke is a material used as fuel and reducing agent in the smelting process in blast furnaces.
Coal is a type of fossil fuel formed from parts of ancient plants underground without oxygen. Coal was the first fossil fuel used by man. He enabled the industrial revolution, which in turn helped develop the coal industry by providing it with more modern technology.
